Cedarwood Himalayan is a tall, evergreen tree up to 50 m high, occasionally more. It grows extensively on the slopes of the Himalayas in northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Himalayan Cedarwood Essential Oil is believed to have the following properties: antiseptic, anti-putrescent, anti-seborrhea, aphrodisiac, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, mucolytic, sedative (nervous), stimulant (circulatory), tonic. In India, this oil has been shown to possess insecticidal and anti-fungal properties. It’s also called Tibetan Cedarwood. The ancient Egyptians already used this oil, namely to embalm, for cosmetics and perfumery. 

It is yellow viscous oil, which has been used for centuries. Cedarwood oils in generals are the earliest known essential oils used by humanity for aroma and medicinal use. Cedarwood oil was extensively used by ancient Egyptians in making cosmetics and perfumes. It is also one of the ingredients of ‘mithridat’ which is an antidote for poison that was used by royals, centuries ago.
